SMSF Administration
DBA Advisory delivers outsourced SMSF administration to Australian accounting firms, financial advisers and trustees — SIS Act-compliant, audit-ready year-round, and priced per fund on fixed fees.
What is SMSF administration outsourcing?
SMSF administration outsourcing delegates the fund accounting, compliance monitoring, member reporting and audit preparation of Australian self-managed super funds to a specialist provider such as DBA Advisory.
For accounting firms it converts a capacity bottleneck into scalable, fixed-cost delivery; for trustees it removes the “second job” of running a compliant fund.
White-label capacity for your SMSF book
Qualified staff shortages have made SMSF administration the growth ceiling of many Australian practices.
DBA processes funds in your systems (Class, BGL Simple Fund 360) under your brand, to documented standards, with per-fund fixed pricing — so your firm scales its SMSF book without scaling headcount. Delivery capacity draws on the firm’s Australian and international delivery teams under Australian senior review.
Is your firm ready for AML/CTF Tranche 2?
Since 1 July 2026, accountants, lawyers, conveyancers and real estate agents providing designated services are AUSTRAC reporting entities — carrying financial-crime reporting obligations under the Australian regime. Enrolment, a risk-based AML/CTF program, customer due diligence and ongoing monitoring are now mandatory.
DBA Advisory designs, implements and runs working AML/CTF programs — not templates.
How DBA Helps
Six disciplines that keep every fund compliant, current and audit-ready — at any volume.
SMSF Administration & Compliance
Every transaction, contribution and pension payment monitored against SIS Act and ATO requirements as it happens, so compliance is a property of the daily process rather than an annual discovery exercise.
Audit Readiness
Funds maintained in constant readiness, with documentation verified as it is created, so the annual independent audit becomes a non-event.
Contribution & Pension Cap Monitoring
Real-time tracking against caps, with early warnings while there is still time to act in the same financial year.
Tax & Regulatory Intelligence
Administration aligned to current Australian super law — including Division 296 planning conversations from 2026–27 for balances above $3m.
Financial Clarity
Panoramic, real-time reporting across fund assets for trustees and their advisers, replacing the annual surprise of historical fund accounts.
Succession & Legacy Architecture
Binding nominations, reversionary arrangements and documentation kept aligned with trustees’ intentions and reviewed on a defined cycle.
Fund administration beyond Australia
Self-managed superannuation funds are Australian, but the disciplines behind a well-run fund are not.
DBA Advisory applies the same operational model — fund accounting, compliance monitoring against the rules that apply, member and investor reporting, and audit readiness — to retirement and investment structures internationally, working alongside the trustees’ or managers’ local licensed advisers.
We do not advise on, establish or hold ourselves out as licensed for any structure outside Australia; we run the administration, and your local advisers own the regulatory and advice questions.
SMSF Administration Wherever You Operate
Practical technical updates on SMSF administration—covering ATO compliance rules, investment strategy documentation, Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Act regulations, and annual audit preparation. Every article is dated, author-attributed, jurisdiction-tagged, and reviewed against current ATO SMSF rulings.
About SMSF Administration
Comprehensive information on self-managed super fund accounting, annual audit readiness, trustee compliance duties, contribution cap monitoring, and streamlined ATO reporting processes.
Your firm keeps the client relationship and the advice; DBA Advisory processes the funds — in Class or BGL Simple Fund 360, in your environment or ours, under your brand where wanted — to documented standards on per-fund fixed pricing. The practice scales its SMSF book without recruiting.
No. Self-managed superannuation funds are an Australian structure created by Australian legislation; the structure does not exist elsewhere. Australian residents living overseas with an existing SMSF should raise residency and control questions with their licensed adviser, as those affect the fund’s complying status. For fund-administration disciplines applied internationally, see our global business services.
Trustees retain legal responsibility under the SIS Act — outsourcing the administration does not transfer it. What changes is execution quality: documented processes, real-time cap monitoring and audit-ready records reduce the risk of breaches occurring at all.
Yes. We administer funds in Class and BGL Simple Fund 360 — in your firm’s environment or ours — so data, workpapers and audit trails stay in platforms your auditors already know. No fund data is trapped in a proprietary system you cannot take back.
We maintain funds in constant readiness, so the independent auditor (required annually under the SIS Act) receives a complete file and most audits close without a query list.
The independent SMSF audit is a separate engagement with an approved SMSF auditor, not with DBA Advisory — auditor independence requires that separation.
From the 2026–27 year, Division 296 applies an additional tax on earnings attributable to total super balances above $3 million. If any member is near that threshold, contribution strategy, asset location and record accuracy all matter more.
Fixed fee per fund, banded by complexity, agreed annually. Firms with volume books receive schedule pricing — no hourly rates, no surprises at year-end.
Command Your Legacy
Professional administration for your most important Australian structure — or for your entire SMSF book. Fixed fee per fund; audit-ready every day of the year.
