ASSOCIATE AUDITOR

Can you efficiently and effectively conduct audit procedures – specifically, of various tests in financial data? Are you a team player and can work collaboratively with team members to deliver high quality statutory audits?

We are looking for Associate Auditors to develop audit plans, dispose audit review comments, and prepare audit reports. Candidates must possess an extensive knowledge on local accounting processes and ensure compliance of best practices of all audit procedures and standards. They must also have keen attention to detail, with strong problem solving and customer service skills.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Utilise audit training materials
  • Participate in the development of audit plans
  • Conduct audit procedures with the mindset of efficiently and effectively achieving objectives
    • Internal control tests
    • Substantive analytical review and test of details on all financial statements’ accounts
  • Ensure proper documentation (referencing, indexing, grouping) of raw files and working papers
  • Obtain sufficient and appropriate audit information that will support audit observations, conclusions, and recommendations
  • Update and seek proper guidance from the Senior Auditor, regarding ambiguities and significant issues in the work, to avoid undue delays
  • Dispose audit review comments
  • Resolve client inquiries and issues relating to audit functions
  • Prepare audit reports
  • Check financial statements prepared by client and raise any error/s
  • Accomplish daily timesheet
  • Familiarise one’s self with the applicable Financial Reporting Standards and other legislative requirements
  • Attend in-house or external seminars/training recommended by management
  • Ensure continuing professional development in compliance with professional regulatory bodies
  • Ensure compliance of best practices of all audit procedures and standards

 

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a bachelor’s degree in Accountancy
  • CPA or master’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field is a plus
  • Experience in public accounting/audit firm (Big 4 firms preferred) will be highly regarded
  • Knowledge of accounting software is an advantage, e.g. MYOB, QuickBooks, and XERO
  • Extensive knowledge of local accounting and Australian accounting processes is a huge advantage
  • Must be PC proficient, preferably with experience in using large automated accounting systems,  including cloud accounting systems
  • Keen attention to detail and deadline oriented
  • Strong problem solving, interpersonal. and customer service skills are required
  • Takes responsibility, results-driven and resourceful, and has a strong sense of accountability
  • Has solid verbal and written communication skills with all levels of management, experience working directly with senior leadership, and the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • Resilient, mature, and is able to deal with ambiguity
  • Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment and ability to multi-task under pressure
  • Willing to be trained and can work with minimal supervision
